The Physical DND: When life’s hard, and you need a step back, do you go into a physical DND as well as the digital one? Virtually sending everyone to voicemail while you get your shit together? Well, me too, and that’s how Answerin’ Machine was born.
I understand that in this era of constant access, going offline can feel like a stab in the back to some. I never fully understood that. I would rather have a million people show up for me than for what I offer. It’s that unbound love that speaks volumes.
The “Why” Behind the Silence: I took a 6+ month hiatus because streaming had become a chore. I was policing grown folks to be decent humans instead of chasing memes. I felt like I didn’t stand on anything. I was haphazardly raised, and I didn’t truly grasp the weight of “standing for something” until recently.
Everything changed when close friends got pregnant. It hit me: Who do I want around when I have kids? Why wouldn’t I hold my online community to that same standard?
The New Standard: Since returning on 03/30/2026, the overhaul has been real. I’ve opened the space for real discourse and figured out who belongs in this circle and who doesn’t. I’ve reconnected with the ones whose love transcends the digital—the future aunts and uncles to my kids.
The employment switch I’ve made has finally given me the air to breathe, to stream, and to get back to the musical grind. My music is now the soundtrack to this multimedia outlet; it’s the brand's pulse.
